After reading through their website, I'm still not sure how it works or who it's for. So, I'd stick to a better option like 1Password, which makes password creation straightforward and works across all devices.

Which password manager is more secure than LastPass?

You can use a free option but if the company is hacked or if your local installation of open-source software is hacked, it could prove disastrous.

While LastPass is undoubtedly a secure option, the major downside is that it's one of the few password managers that has been previously hacked. Not only that, but it's also regularly been exposed as having major architectural issues.

For that reason, I'd typically say my go-to password manager is 1Password. The company has never been hacked and with password managers, the most important thing is that the tool is secure.

You can use a free option, but if the company is hacked or your local installation of open-source software is hacked, it could prove disastrous. So, out of all the premium LastPass alternatives, 1Password is at the top of the list for being more secure.

Having said that - NordPass is also incredibly secure - and while NordVPN had been hacked a while back - NordPass wasn't. And you could argue that the fact NordVPN was briefly compromised, they had double downed on their security measures. After all, the brand certainly does have the resources.

Plus they offer a free version of NordPass.

Is LastPass's free plan still worth it?

I don't believe that LastPass's free plan is still worth it. As noted above, it is one of the only password managers to experience a major data breach. And over the years, LastPass has failed to maintain the high quality which the product began with.

Recently, I tried out LastPass after three years and the main thing I noticed is that LastPass was not as smooth to use as it once was.

With another free option like NordPass, the experience is seamless across devices and between desktop and mobile. Everything is easy to do, including managing one-time passwords.

Both Mac and Windows users and iOS and Android users can benefit from the easy-to-use apps. You can also use Safari, Firefox, or Google Chrome extensions for added convenience.
